Free World-First Mental Health Game
For: IGN
In a little more proof that gaming can cure the world's ails, Reach Out Australia has invested some time and money into creaing a free online game that aims to tackle youth mental health issues. Ever wished you could relive instances in your life so they'd turn out differently? That's the premise behind 'ROC' - Reach Out Central.
According to the site, there are 15 story lines with 10 different characters, with no right or wrong answers and the experience ends when you want it to (which, we'd imagine, is when you close the browser window and go back to playing 'Halo 3' and downloading illegal warez).
You also have an in-game MP3 player with some pre-loaded tunes and there are a bunch of unlockables. The official site requires registration, and it's not the most mindblowing game ever, but check it out anyway. It's free and for a very worthwhile cause, after all.
